Former Democratic congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard is expected to week at the Conservative Political Action Conference this week.
Gabbard, who unsuccessfully ran for the Democratic nomination for president in 2020, will address the annual conference’s Ronald Reagan Dinner on Saturday night, according to The Hill.
Though any other Democrat speaking at a gathering of conservative activists and elected officials would be unusual, Gabbard’s appearance is less so given that she has become increasingly critical of the Democratic party.
She criticized Biden for the withdrawal from Afghanistan, his handling of the tension between Russia and Ukraine and was a vocal critic of his commitment to nominate a Black woman to the Supreme Court, Newsweek reported.
CPAC will begin on Thursday in Orlando, Fla. Other speakers scheduled to address the conference includes the Republican Party 2024 presidential hopefuls, Donald Trump, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
