Former impeachment counsel wins New York democratic primary.

Daniel Goldman, the former lead counsel to House Democrats during Donald Trump’s first impeachment, won a democratic primary in New York on Tuesday.

Goldman beat a crowded field, including incumbent Rep. Mondaire Jones (D-N.Y.) to win the primary in New York’s 10th Congressional District.

Goldman, a Levi Strauss & Co. heir, was endorsed by the New York Times editorial board and reportedly poured $4 million from his own personal wealth into the race.

“While we will appreciate and respect the Democratic process and make sure that all the votes are counted, it is quite clear from the way that the results have come in that we have won,” Goldman told supporters on Tuesday night, according to Politico. “It is because of you and everyone in this room who worked so hard together to get us here, working toward a shared pragmatic and progressive vision for this city and this country.”
