Former Meadows aide will testify at surprise Jan. 6 hearing.

Cassidy Hutchinson, a former aide to Trump White House chief of staff Mark Meadows will be the witness at Tuesday’s surprise Jan. 6 hearing, according to Punchbowl News.

The Jan. 6 committee played videotaped testimony from Hutchinson last week discussing how Reps. Mo Brooks (R-AL) and Matt Gaetz (R-FL) wanted blanket pardons for members of Congress who worked with Trump on a plan to overturn the election.

Hutchinson parted ways with her former attorney, who has deep connections Trump World, and brought on new representation before the Jan. 6 committee’s public hearings were set to begin.

On Monday, the committee announced the surprise hearing, set for 1 p.m. ET on Capitol Hill “to present recently obtained evidence and receive witness testimony.”
