Washington DC police say that four people died during the violent pro-Trump riot in the city on Wednesday.
Washington, D.C., Police Chief Robert Contee said the dead on Wednesday included a woman who was shot by Capitol Police, as well as three others who died in “medical emergencies.”

Ashley Babbitt, an Air Force veteran was identified by her family as the woman who died after she was shot when rioters forced their way into the Capitol building.
At least 14 officers sustained injuries during the riot. Two were serious enough to require hospitalization, Conte said.
Donald Trump’s supporters stormed the Capitol as lawmakers were voting to certify Joe Biden as the winner of the election, forcing both chambers to be evacuated.

Officers recovered two pipe bombs outside the headquarters of the Democratic National Committee and the Republican National Committee, respectively.
As of 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday officers made 52 arrests. Just 26 of the 52 arrests were made on Capitol grounds.
