Fox Business host Maria Bartiroma is accusing the federal government of trying to rig the 2024 presidential election by encouraging people to vote.
In two separate interviews with Republican lawmakers on Friday, Bartiromo asked what was the plan to combat the federal government’s efforts to get more people to vote in the November presidential election, citing a report from right-wing outlet The Federalist titled “9 Ways The Feds Are Using ‘Bidenbucks’ To Rig The 2024 Election.”
House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-La.) claims efforts to encourage people to vote is another example of the “weaponization of government.”
“We set up a committee to look into the weaponization of government of government,” he added.
Rep. Michael Waltz (R-FL) told Bartiromo that Republicans have taken steps to “defund” some of these efforts to get more people to vote and they’re being blocked in the Senate by Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY).
“We have to fight,” Waltz said. “Whether it’s them or these corrupt UN agencies that are supporting Hamas over in Israel, which we’ve also defunded. We also have to fight them in the courts which we’re absolutely going to do with his using taxpayers dollars for voter registration.”
