Fox News is now engaging in a stunning display of revisionist history by claiming that former President Donald Trump was actually following the science and President Joe Biden is an “anti-vaxxer”.
Last week the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention said fully vaccinated people can exercise and attend small gatherings outdoors without wearing a face mask. President Biden has continued to wear his mask in public.
On Monday, Fox News host Greg Gutfeld said the current president is actually doing more harm than Trump ever did because the former president was following the science, implying that President Biden is not.
“Donald Trump was following the science and in fact was one step ahead of the science in a number of ways including the vaccine roll out,” Gutfeld said. “So let’s dispel that lie once and for all that Trump like ran away from mask. He went further than most people when it came to shutting down the economy, his economy, I might add that he was doing pretty great at the time.”
“I guess Joe isn’t going far enough on this”,” Gutfeld continued. “Maybe he should just roll himself up in bubble wrap and then travel around in a fully encapsulated popemobile because you know what, it’s pretty clear, he doesn’t trust the vaccine. He didn’t trust the vaccine when it came out, he said, ‘Look, I you know it’s Trump’s vaccine.’ And now he’s giving this message to people that they shouldn’t get the vaccine.”
Gutfeld said Biden is sending a “dangerous, dangerous message”.
Later in the show, Jesse Watters called the president an anti-vaxxer.
“I don’t think [Biden] believes in the vaccine,” Watters said. “I think deep down he does not trust the science, he thinks that Trump meddled with the labs and he is an anti-vaxxer.”
