Fox News suddenly cancels Lou Dobbs’ show on Friday, one day after he was named in a lawsuit from voting machine company, Smartmatic.
A Fox spokesperson told The Los Angeles Times that Friday night was Dobbs’ last night on air. A source close to Dobbs later confirmed that he was benched by the network.
According to the Los Angeles Times, Dobbs “remains under contract at Fox News but he will in all likelihood not appear on the company’s networks again.”
Dobbs was one of Donald Trump’s staunchest defenders on network television and helped to spread his conspiracy theories about the election. This made his show one of the more highly rated programs on Fox. But that turned out to be a problem.
Dobbs, Maria Bartiromo, and Jeanine Pirro were named in a $2.7 billion lawsuit from voting technology company Smartmatic on Thursday for spreading lies about the company’s machines while perpetuating Trump’s lies about election fraud.
