Fox News host offers brutal assessment of Trump-Putin summit: “Not much was accomplished”

Fox News host Howard Kurtz said nothing was accomplished at Donald Trump’s summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday.

Trump and Putin met at an Alaska military base to discuss a peace agreement to end the war in Ukraine, but no deal was struck and Putin faced no consequences over his unprovoked invasion of Ukraine.

On his show, Media Buzz, on Sunday Kurtz admitted that the summit was a failure.

“After the meeting, despite upbeat talk it was clear not much was accomplished,” he said. “No ceasefire, no details, no questions from the press. Just vague assurances that some progress was made without explaining what that was.”

Kurtz’s comments came hours after Donald Trump criticized media coverage of the summit on his social media platform.

“It’s incredible how the Fake News violently distorts the TRUTH when it comes to me. There is NOTHING I can say or do that would lead them to write or report honestly about me,” Trump posted to Truth Social. “I had a great meeting in Alaska on Biden’s stupid War, a war that should have never happened!!!”
