Fox News host praises Donald Trump for acting as ‘consoler-in-chief’ at press conference about deadly plane crash.

Fox News host Harris Faulkner praised Donald Trump for playing the role of ‘consoler-in-chief’ at Thursday’s press conference about the deadly plane collision in Washington D.C.

Sixty-seven people are dead after an American Airlines plane collided with a Blackhawk helicopter over the Potomac River late Wednesday.

Trump began Thursday’s press conference by asking for a moment of silence for the victims, before launching into political attacks by casting blame on the previous Democratic administrations and the FAA’s diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) program.

Trump cited no evidence to support his claim, and even admitted that the investigation had only just begun.

He also questioned the actions of the helicopter pilot and air traffic controller.

Despite this, Faulkner praised Trump for fulfilling the role of consoler-in-chief during the tragedy.

“I want to start..with something that the president said about his third or fourth paragraph,” Faulkner said in a clip highlighted by Media Matters.

“‘This was a dark and excruciating night in our nation’s capital and in our nation’s history and a tragedy of terrible proportions,” she continued quoting Trump’s speech. “‘As one nation we grieve for every precious soul that has been taken from us so suddenly and we are a country and really we are in mourning. This has really shaken a lot of people, including people very sadly from other nations who were on that flight.'”

“I mean, he played the role of consoler-in-chief,” Faulkner added.
