Fox News host Jesse Watters claims Joe Biden’s love of ice-cream is a sign that the president has a diminished mental capacity.
Biden, whose love of ice cream is well-documented dating back to his time as vice-president, visited Van Leeuwen’s ice cream shop in New York City after filming an appearance for Late Night With Seth Meyers on Monday.
On his show Tuesday, Watters compared Biden to Alzheimer’s patients because of his love for ice-cream.
“You know who lights up for ice cream? Children and the elderly. There’s a reason caregivers deliver ice cream to their patients in nursing homes,” Watters said, according to a clip shared by Mediaite.
“According to the Alzheimer’s Association, ice cream is a favorite for people with diminished faculties,” he continued. “Quote, ‘Ice cream has the power to immediately elicit soothing feelings of the very first taste of a single spoon-full. It erases all the negative feelings related to the frustration and continues to stimulate pleasure receptors in the brain with every new scoop.'”
“Now, obviously, I’m not diagnosing Biden with Alzheimer’s, but you see what’s going on here?,” Watters added. “He’s a child. He copies homework. He lies, falls asleep, doesn’t listen.”
Watters’ comment comes as allies of Donald Trump, 77, are ramping up their criticisms of Biden’s age and cognitive abilities as questions rise about the former president’s mental abilities amid a slew of gaffes on the campaign trail.
