Fox News reporter says Republicans ‘flip flop’ on border deal plays right into Biden’s hands.

A Fox News reporter explained how Republicans are playing right into President Joe Biden’s hands with their “flip flop” on the bipartisan border deal.

A bipartisan group of senators has been working to craft legislation to fix the problems at the southern border following outrage from Republicans about the urgent need for something to be done.

But that need for urgency evaporated this week after Trump inserted himself in the discussions and privately urged his allies in the Senate to sink any border deal to deny Biden a victory before the 2024 presidential election.

Several Republicans have since come out and said they will oppose the bill, despite not know what is in it.

“Texas Senator Ted Cruz said that President Biden doesn’t need more money to secure the border because he could reimpose some Trump era policies that he says were effective at keeping migrants out,” Fox News White House Correspondent Jacqui Heinrich, said, according to a clip by Mediaite.

“But of course, this flip flop from Senate GOP leadership does play right into the White House claim that Republicans are not serious about solving this issue that they have been sounding off about for the last couple of years,” she added.

Fox & Friends host Steve Doocy also criticized Republicans for turning on a potential deal at the request of Trump and also admitted that the move could backfire.

“We’ve waited a generation for something like this,” Doocy said. “And then for the former president to say, don’t pass it because it would help the Democrats? It sounds like the White House is just ready to start saying, hey, we tried. Blame them.”
