Fox News released a statement on Wednesday responding to the startling banner on one of their shows on Tuesday night referring to President Joe Biden as a “wannabe dictator” after Donald Trump’s arraignment.
In a statement the network said the banner was taken down and “addressed.” The network didn’t clarify what exactly that means.
The banner appeared on screen for 27 seconds on Tuesday while the network showed a split screen of dueling speeches from President Joe Biden at the White House and Trump at his New Jersey Golf club.
“WANNABE DICTATOR SPEAKS AT THE WHITE HOUSE AFTER HAVING HIS POLITICAL RIVAL ARRESTED,” the banner read.
Trump was arraigned earlier Tuesday on 37 counts relating to his mishandling of classified documents after leaving office and obstructing federal investigators efforts to reclaim them.
The former president pleaded not guilty to all counts and has repeatedly dismissed the charges as a political attack by the Biden administration.
