Fox reporter says White House is giving Wall Street execs inside information on tariff negotiations

Fox reporter Charles Gasparino reported on Thursday that the Trump administration is giving Wall Street executives insider information about negotiations regarding ongoing trade deals.

“People inside the Trump White House are alerting Wall Street execs they are nearing an agreement in principle on trade with India, according to my sources who are senior Wall Street execs w ties to the White House,” Gasparino, Fox Business senior financial reporter revealed in a post on X. “No details on timing, and recall that we have been here before with Japan only to have the goal posts changed, and terms renegotiated. But if this holds, the India deal being envisioned will include agreed upon goals, and issues that have been addressed and resolved as well as a deadline for the fully-baked trade pact, my sources say.”

Gasparino added that Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent’s team did not deny the story.

When Bloomberg’s Joe Weisenthal said the big story from Gasparino scoop is that the White House is giving “Wall Street executives early heads up on trade negotiations, rather than the existence of the deals themselves,” the Fox reporter pushed back.

“Joe obviously has never reported on Wall Street; I broke all of the financial crisis stories because the White House was talking to Wall Street,” Gasparino responded.

“Right. That was a financial crisis, involving the banks themselves, so of course there were ongoing discussions,” Weisenthal fired back.
