Fundraiser for Ford worker suspended after calling Trump a “pedophile protector” raises over $300k

Donations are pouring in for the Ford worker who was suspended after calling Donald Trump a “pedophile protector” on Tuesday.

During Trump’s tour of Ford’s plant in Michigan, a worker yelled “pedophile protector” at him. According to a video obtained by TMZ, Trump appeared to mouth “fuck you” in response and gave the middle finger. The worker, who has since been identified as TJ Sabula, said he was suspended over the incident but told The Washington Post that he has “no regrets whatsoever.”

A GoFundMe page set up after Sabula’s confrontation with Trump has raised over $300,000 in a matter of hours after its launch.

“Please help us raise funds for patriot TJ Sabula!! TJ was suspended from his job at the Ford Automotive Company for correctly calling President Donald J Trump a Pedophile Protector!! Let’s rally and support TJ and help him pay some bills (and force DJT to release the Trump/Epstein Files) LFG!!” Sean Williams, the organizer, wrote on the page.

In an update, Williams wrote that Sabula is “super grateful for everyone’s support” and that he has successfully transferred control of the fundraiser to Sabula.

Sabula told the Post that he made sure Trump could hear him “very, very, very clearly” when he called him a “pedophile protector.”

“I don’t feel as though fate looks upon you often, and when it does, you better be ready to seize the opportunity,” he added. “And today I think I did that.”

Meanwhile, the White House director of communications Steven Cheung defended Trump’s conduct to reporters. Cheung called Sabula “a lunatic” who “was wildly screaming expletives in a complete fit of rage, and the president gave an appropriate and unambiguous response.”

This comes as the Trump administration faces renewed criticism over the slow release of the records related to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Under the Epstein Files Transparency Act, the Department of Justice is required to release all of its files on the Epstein case by Dec. 19, 2025, but so far, only about 1% of the files have been made public.
