Gen. Milley took top secret action to prevent Trump from using nuclear weapons: Book.

The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, Gen. Mark Milley was so fearful that Former President Donald Trump could ‘go rogue,’ during his final days in office that he took top- secret action to prevent him from ordering a military strike.

Milley limited Trump’s ability to use the country’s nuclear weapons two days after the Capitol attack.

Watergate journalist Bob Woodward and Washington Post reporter Robert Costa, wrote in their new book Peril that Gen. Milley was shaken by the assault, and “was certain that Trump had gone into a serious mental decline in the aftermath of the election, with Trump now all but manic, screaming at officials and constructing his own alternate reality about endless election conspiracies.”

In a secret meeting at the Pentagon on Jan. 8, Milley reportedly instructed senior military officials in charge of the National Military Command Center–the Pentagon Command Center– to not take orders from anyone unless he was involved, CNN reported.

“No matter what you are told, you do the procedure. You do the process. And I’m part of that procedure,” Milley reportedly told the officers.

He then asked each of the officers to verbally confirm that they understood while looking them in the eye.

“Got it?” Gen Milley asked.

“Yes, sir,” the officers responded. Gen Milley “considered it an oath,” the reporters write.
