Former Georgia Republican Lieutenant Governor Geoff Duncan, who endorsed Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election, has been expelled from the Georgia GOP.
On Monday the Party unanimously adopted the resolution booting Duncan from the Republican Party and asked that he be referred to “as ‘expelled Republican Geoff Duncan’ or ‘ousted Republican Geoff Duncan’ going forward.
In the resolution, the Georgia GOP listed several instances where they believe Duncan, a prominent Trump critic “violated his oath of allegiance to the party.”
Among their reasons is Duncan’s endorsement of President Joe Biden and later Kamala Harris in the recent presidential election over Trump.
Georgia Republicans also accuse Duncan of “undermin[ing] and sabotag[ing] the candidacy of Burt Jones, Duncan’s successor for lieutenant governor and former Republican Senate candidate Herschel Walker.
“Josh McKoon, Chairman of the Georgia Republican Party, with the support of the State Executive Committee of the Georgia Republican Party, has demanded that Duncan cease calling himself a “Republican” and using his false credential as a “Republican” to undermine and sabotage the Republican Party and its candidates,” the party’s resolution reads.
In a statement on X, Duncan said it is difficult “to believe this is a good use of time for a party that’s only got a limited amount of time to figure out mass deportations, world peace and global tariffs.”
“Learn how to take a victory lap not light another dumpster fire @JoshMcKoon,” he added.
