Georgia’s Republican Lt. Gov. Geoff Duncan revealed on Wednesday that he did not vote for Republican Senate candidate Herschel Walker in the runoff election.
Duncan told CNN that he waited in line for an hour to vote, but ended up not casting a ballot for neither Walker nor Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-Ga.), saying it was “the most disappointing ballot” he has ever seen.
“I showed up to vote this morning. I was one of those folks who got in line and spent about an hour waiting, and it was the most disappointing ballot I’ve ever stared at in my entire life since I started voting,” Duncan told CNN.
“I had two candidates that I just couldn’t find anything that made sense for me to put my vote behind, and so I walked out of that ballot box showing up to vote but not voting for either one of them,” he added
The contest between Walker and Warnock headed to a runoff after neither candidate received more than 50 percent of the vote in the November midterm election. Warnock won 49.4% of the vote and Walker got 48.5% of the vote.
Early voting has began in Georgia ahead of the official runoff on Tuesday, December 6 and is already breaking records.
The winner of the runoff will determine whether Democrats expand their majority in the upper chamber to 51 or if it will remain evenly divided with Vice President Kamala Harris serving as the tie breaking vote.
Duncan who has been a critic of Donald Trump and his baseless claims of widespread voter fraud in the 2020 election did not seek re-election this year.
