Georgia secretary of state confirms Joe Biden has won the state.

Georgia’s Republican Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger confirmed on Friday what we knew all along —Joe Biden has won the state of Georgia and its 16 electoral college votes.

Raffensperger said he’s disappointed that the Republican candidate did not win the state but, “the numbers don’t lie”.

“Working as an engineer throughout my life, I live by the motto that numbers don’t lie,” he said. “As Secretary of State, I believe that the numbers that we have presented today are correct.”

Georgia completed their statewide audit on Thursday that reaffirmed Biden’s victory. Though Trump picked up a few votes, it was not enough to overcome Biden’s lead in the state. In the end Biden won the Peach State by 12,284 votes. It is the first time since 1992 that a Democratic candidate for president has won the state.
