GOP schools nominee in NC previously called for executing Obama, Biden and other Democrats.

Michele Morrow, the Republican nominee to oversee public schools in North Carolina has a history of calling for violence against prominent democrats, including demanding that former President Barack Obama and President Joe Biden be executed, according to a CNN investigation.

Morrow expressed support for a live execution of Obama in May 2020 in response to a user on Twitter claiming that the former president should be sent to prison at Guantanamo Bay.

“I prefer a Pay Per View of him in front of the firing squad,” she wrote. “I do not want to waste another dime on supporting his life. We could make some money back from televising his death.”

In another post that same month, Morrow wrote, “Death to ALL traitors!!” in response to a fake Time Magazine cover featuring Obama in an electric chair.

In December 2020, she suggested that then-President-elect Biden should be put to death after he said he would ask Americans to wear a mask for 100 days during the COVID pandemic.

“Never. We need to follow the Constitution’s advice and KILL all TRAITORS!!! #JusticeforAmerica,” she wrote.

According to the CNN investigation, Morrow made other comments on social media between 2019 and 2021 calling for prominent democrats, including former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (N.Y.) to be executed for treason.

Morrow, a registered nurse and activist who homeschooled her children, recently defeated incumbent Catherine Truitt, in the Republican primary for Superintendent of Public Instruction in North Carolina.

She has in the past referred to public schools as “socialism centers” and “indoctrination centers.” If elected, Morrow will be in charge of overseeing the state’s public school system and help set educational priorities among other responsibilities.

Morrow doubled down on her past comments on X/Twitter after the CNN report, writing: “According to @KFILE and @CNN @CNNPolitics, Obama’s drone attacks on hundreds of innocent Muslims in Yemen are not treasonous. The insanity of the media demonstrates the need to teach K-12 students real history and critical thinking skills. #ncpol”.
