GOP senator gives Trump an “A+” for first 100 days in office despite brutal poll numbers.

Donald Trump has the lowest 100-day approval rating of any president in the past 80 years, but according to Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.) his performance so far has been exceptional.

Trump’s first 100 days of his second term has been characterized by chaos and confusion as he moves quickly to implement his far right agenda which has turned voters outside his MAGA base against him.

This has been reflected in poll, after poll, after poll, after poll, after poll showing Trump’s approval rating has collapsed since he returned to office in January.

But, in an interview with Fox Business’ Larry Ludlow on Monday Tuberville argued that Trump’s first 100 days deserve an “A+” rating.

“A+, What else can he do, Larry? They left it in a total mess,” Tuberville answered when asked to rank Trump’s performance, according to a clip highlighted by Mediaite.

“I was up here for four years of Joe Biden. They did not do one thing for the American people or for this country,” he continued. “They actually tried to destroy it, and everything went down. Now, President Trump has got foreign wars, he’s got deportations, the border, tax cuts. He’s trying to save the economy. What a total disaster the Democrats created.”

Trump’s approval rating is also underwater on every issue Tuberville cited, except the border, to defend his A+ rating of Trump’s performance so far.

As for the senator’s claim that Trump is saving the economy, 72% in the ABC News/Washington Post/Ipsos poll said they think it’s very or somewhat likely that Trump’s economic policies will cause a recession in the short term, 73 percent said the economy is in bad shape, 53% said it’s gotten worse since Trump took office and 41% said their own finances have worsened.
