GOP senator says “no decent person” would do to McConnell what he did to Joe Biden.

Republican Sen. Mike Lee (UT) who mocked former President Joe Biden’s stumble, claimed on Friday that “no decent person” would do the same to Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY).

McConnell tripped and fell on Thursday in the basement of a Senate office building.

Lee came to the 83-year-old senator’s defense on social media, writing, “No decent person — and certainly no conservative person — should mock an 83-year-old’s fall. That was heartbreaking, and the thought of anyone finding it amusing is hard to fathom.”

However, critics were quick to point out that Lee mocked Biden’s stumble on Air Force One last year.

“Why stairs are a threat to humanity,” Lee wrote at the time on social media.

Several social media users responded to Lee’s post on Friday with a screenshot of his earlier post mocking Biden, while others pointed to disparaging social media posts he made after Democrat Melissa Hortman and her husband were fatally shot by a Trump supporter in Minnesota.

“Mike Lee is as phony as they come. Same guy who literally made a joke of Melissa Hortman’s murder then was outraged when people spoke ill of Charlie Kirk,” one user wrote.

After the murder of the Hortmans, Lee took to social media to mock the attack, which also left Democratic state Sen. John Hoffman and his wife injured,

“This is what happens when Marxists don’t get their way,” Lee wrote in a post on X at the time with a picture of the suspect charged in the shooting, Vance Boelter, wearing a latex face mask. In another, Lee wrote “Nightmare on Waltz Street”, which appeared to be a reference to Tim Walz, Minnesota’s Democratic governor

Boelter’s friends have told local media he was right-leaning and he was registered as a Republican.
