Graham defends Trump's catch and kill by saying Schwarzenegger and Tiger Woods did it too.

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) defended Donald Trump’s role in a catch and kill scheme before the 2016 presidential election by claiming that Tiger Woods and Arnold Schwarzenegger did it too.

In an interview with CNN’s Dana Bash, Graham was asked about former National Enquirer publisher David Pecker’s testimony under oath in Trump’s criminal hush money trial in Manhattan.

Pecker testified that he had a deal with Trump in 2016 to “catch-and-kill” unfavorable stories about him to help his campaign while publishing negative or even false stories about his opponents.

“You don’t have any concerns about that?” asked Bash.

“You know apparently a lot of people do this, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Tiger Woods. I think the whole thing is a crock,” Graham said. “I think it is a political hit job on Trump six months before the election.”

“Obviously, Tiger Woods is not running for president,” Bash said.

“I think the whole thing’s BS,” Graham responded. “I think it’s all BS. Political BS.”

Trump is facing 34 counts of allegedly falsifying business records to pay hush money to adult film star Stormy Daniels before the 2016 presidential election to keep quiet about his extramarital affair.

Trump faces a total of 88 criminal charges in four cases. The other charges are related to his alleged mishandling of classified documents after leaving office and his attempts to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election at the federal level and at the state level in Georgia.

Graham told Bash on Sunday that he will support Trump, even if the former president is convicted in any of the four cases he is facing.
