Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) urged Democrats on Sunday to put an end to the California wildfires by manipulating the weather to send rain.
“Why don’t they use geoengineering like cloud seeding to bring rain down on the wildfires in California?” Greene asked in a post on X. “They know how to do it.”
Greene and other conspiracy theorists who believe the government control the weather usually cite cloud seeding which involves introducing tiny ice nuclei into some clouds to help produce rain.
The practice has been around since the 1940s and helps to produce small increases in rainfall, not the massive downpour it would require to put out the large fires in California.
Also, it requires require storms or cloud systems to seed and since California is experiencing a drought and there are no storm or cloud systems, there is nothing to ….seed.
Greene made a similar suggestion in October, claiming that the federal government created Hurricane Milton by manipulating the weather and sending it to Florida.
“Yes they can control the weather,” Greene wrote in a post on X at the time. “It’s ridiculous for anyone to lie and say it can’t be done.”
Greene is no stranger to promoting conspiracy theories about California wildfires.
Before she was elected to Congress Greene said wildfires in California were started by space lasers controlled by the Rothschilds, a wealthy Jewish family.
