Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) claims that God sent an earthquake as a sign telling the country to “repent”
On Friday a magnitude 4.8 earthquake sent shockwaves throughout New York City and the surrounding area. The quake’s impact was felt in Philadelphia and Baltimore. Tremors were also felt in Maine and Washington D.C.
According to Greene, the earthquake as well as the total solar eclipse that will cross North America on Monday, are signs from God.
“God is sending America strong signs to tell us to repent,” she wrote in a post on X/Twitter. “Earthquakes and eclipses and many more things to come. I pray that our country listens.”
Greene has a tendency to push conspiracy theories during a disaster. She infamously blamed the deadly California wildfires in 2018 on a space laser controlled by the Rothschilds, a prominent Jewish family, and has claimed that flooding at the Burning Man festival last year was an act of God.
