Harris leads Trump by 20 points among young voters.

POLL: Kamala Harris wipes out Trump’s lead in battleground states.

Vice-President Kamala Harris has a massive double digit lead over Donald Trump among young voters, according to a new poll from Axios.

Sixty (60) percent of voters between 18 and 34 say they would vote for Harris if the elections were held today compared to 40% for Trump.

Biden stepped down as the Democratic presidential nominee on Sunday and endorsed Harris due to concerns among Democrats that he would have been unable to defeat Trump in November.

The poll indicates that this was a good decision as Harris appears to be a more formidable opponent to Trump than Biden among young voters.

When asked which candidate they’d support in a Biden-Trump race, the margin narrows to just 6 points with Biden receiving 53% and 47% for Trump.

The Axios poll also found that 45% of young voters said they have an extremely or somewhat favorable view of Harris. Both Biden and Trump scored lower receiving 33% and 34% respectively.

“[T]his data actually does suggest that Harris could run up the score with young voters in a major way,” Cyrus Beschloss, CEO of Generation Lab told Axios.

The Axios poll was conducted between July 22-24, 2024 from a sample 804 18 to 34-year-olds nationwide. The margin of error is ± 3.5 percentage points.
