Hundreds of pages of unsealed documents in a court case linked to Jeffrey Epstein were released Wednesday featuring names of associates of the accused sex trafficker, including former President Donald Trump.
The documents contain excerpts of depositions taken of Virginia Roberts Giuffre who accused Epstein of sexually assaulting her as a minor. There is also a deposition from Johanna Sjoberg, who accused Prince Andrew of touching her breast while taking photos.
During the deposition, Sjoberg recalled the first time she traveled with Epstein on one of his planes.
She said the pilot informed them that they needed to land in Atlantic City, New Jersey for a few hours because of a storm in New York. Epstein suggested they call Trump, then-real estate mogul, to join them at one of his casinos.
“Jeffrey said, ‘Great, we’ll call up Trump and we’ll go to’—I don’t recall the name of the casino, but—’we’ll go to the casino,'” Sjoberg said.
Later in her deposition Sjoberg said she never gave Trump a massage.
Trump is not accused of any wrongdoing related to Epstein.
Epstein was indicted on charges of operating a sex trafficking ring involving underage girls in 2019. He was found dead in his jail cell while awaiting trial.
In 2002, Trump told New York Magazine that he’d known Epstein for 15 years and he was a “terrific guy.”
“He’s a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side. No doubt about it—Jeffrey enjoys his social life,” Trump said at the time.
Trump tried to distance himself from the disgraced financier in 2019 following his arrest. Trump said he hadn’t spoken with Epstein in 15 years and he was “not a fan.”
