Herschel Walker went on a bizarre rant about werewolves killing vampires while campaigning in McDonough, Georgia, on Wednesday.
For two minutes Walker told his supporters at the event about the plot of a movie, which he identified as “Fright Night, Freak Night, or some type of night” in which vampires were killed by werewolves, which changed his mind from wanting to be vampire.
“I was watching this movie called Fright Night,” Walker said. “It was about vampires. I don’t know if you know, vampires are cool people, are they not? But I want to tell you something that I found out. A werewolf can kill a vampire, did you know that? I didn’t know that. So, I don’t want to be a vampire anymore, I wanted to be a werewolf.”
Walker went on to say the vampire in the movie looks like Sen. Raphael Warnock, then recalled how an actor playing the role of a priest in the movie failed to hurt the vampire with a cross and holy water because he lacked faith.
Walker is headed for a December 6 runoff election against Sen. Warnock in Georgia after both candidates fail to reach 50 percent in the November midterm elections.
Democrats are hoping to win the race and extend their majority after keeping control of the Senate in the midterms.
Walker, a staunch anti-abortion Christian, has face allegations about paying two women to get an abortion and having several secret children. He eventually tied his rant back his campaign and his message of having faith.
“That’s the way it is in our life. It doesn’t even work unless you got faith. It is time for us to have faith,” Walker said. “You’ve gotta have faith in our fellow brother. You’ve got to have faith in this country, got to have faith in elected officials. And right now, that’s the reason I’m here.”
