In a now-deleted tweet, Ivanka Trump called for the “American patriots” who stormed the Capitol on Wednesday to delay the certification of Joe Biden’s victory, to stop the violence.
“American Patriots – any security breach or disrespect to our law enforcement is unacceptable,” she wrote. “The violence must stop immediately. Please be peaceful.”
She deleted the tweet shortly after.

Asked if she was calling the rioters ‘patriots’ Ivanka responded: “Peaceful protest is patriotic. Violence is unacceptable and must be condemned in the strongest terms.”
