James Comer has a fixation on a new conspiracy theory.

Fresh off the Joe Biden impeachment report flop, House Oversight Committee chairman Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.) has set his sights set on another MAGA conspiracy theory — Kamala Harris’ running mate Gov. Tim Walz is a Chinese sleeper agent.

In an interview with Fox News host Jesse Watters on Monday, Comer claimed that China could have been “grooming” Walz since the 80s.

“When you go to China, they surveil you,” Watters said. “If an American goes to China 30 times in the ’90s, they have surveillance footage of him. They have surveillance footage probably of his honeymoon night. What kind of compromise is that? They’re worried about [Donald Trump] and a pee tape situation, but that was all made up! This is serious business?”

Comer agreed, saying it is “very serious” and that China “thinks long term.”

“It’s very possible that China would be grooming an up and coming rising star in the political process to try to have a foothold in our government,” Comer said, adding, “I mean, they’ve done this in the military. We’ve caught them with spy rings in our universities. This is how China operates. They think long-term.”

“When you look at Hunter Biden’s ties with communist China, it was for money,” Comer continued. “It looks like Walz’s ties may be for ideology; and this is something that we should be concerned about and we’re trying to gather as much information as we can, as quick as we can, to present to the American people.”

Comer is not the only one who has bizarre thoughts about Walz and China. Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) believes Walz wedding anniversary is a big red flag.

Johnson told Fox News: “It’s very strange. [Walz] got married on the anniversary of Tiananmen Square. He’s gone to China. He’s taught in China. He’s got deep connections to China.”

Walz taught in China for a year in the 1980s after obtaining his undergraduate degree at 25-years-old. He later returned to China for his honeymoon and accompanied American exchange students on many more trips to the country.

Comer announced last Friday that his committee is investigating Walz’s China connections, including the student trips he had organized. Comer said he is seeking information from the FBI about whether Walz could have targeted by or recruited for Beijing’s influence operations.
