House Oversight Chairman Rep. James Comer (R-Ky) issued a statement slamming the full and complete pardon of Hunter Biden by President Joe Biden.
President Biden issued a “full and unconditional pardon,” to Hunter on Sunday covering alleged offenses he committed “from January 1, 2014 through December 1, 2024.”
In a statement Comer blasted the decision to pardon Hunter.
“Joe Biden has lied from start to finish about his family’s corrupt influence peddling activities,” Comer wrote. “Not only has he falsely claimed that he never met with his son’s foreign business associates and that his son did nothing wrong, but he also lied when he said he would not pardon Hunter Biden.”
He continued: “The charges Hunter faced were just the tip of the iceberg in the blatant corruption that President Biden and the Biden Crime Family have lied about to the American people. It’s unfortunate that, rather than come clean about their decades of wrongdoing, President Biden and his family continue to do everything they can to avoid accountability.”
Amid Comer’s public meltdown it is worth remembering that he led House Republicans’ years long investigation of Hunter and Joe Biden looking into alleged corruption and failed to produce a shred of evidence to show that Biden benefited from or was influenced by Hunter’s foreign business dealings while serving as vice-president.
Comer’s attempt to impeach Biden based on these baseless accusations, which he repeated in Sunday’s statement, ended in a flop with even some Republicans calling the entire spectacle “embarrassing“.
