The select committee investigating the deadly Jan. 6 Capitol riot will plans to request that a group of telecommunications companies preserve the phone records of GOP lawmakers who played a role in the ‘Stop the Steal’ rally that preceded the Capitol attack.
The committee did not make the list public but sources told CNN the list so far includes: Republican Reps. Lauren Boebert (CO), Marjorie Taylor Greene (GA), Jim Jordan (OH), Andy Biggs (AZ), Paul Gosar (AZ), Mo Brooks (AL), Madison Cawthorn (NC), Matt Gaetz (FL), Louie Gohmer (TX), Jody Hice (GA), and Scott Perry (PA).
These lawmakers are targeted because the committee concluded each of them played some role in the “Stop the Steal” rally. They either attended, spoke, actively planned or encouraged people to attend.
The committee will also request the records of the former President be preserved, as well as his daughter Ivanka, his sons Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, his daughter-in-law Lara Trump and Kimberly Guilfoyle, who is Trump Jr.’s girlfriend and worked on the campaign.
