Former Trump attorney Jenna Ellis has turned on the former president saying she cannot support his third bid for the White House due to his inability to admit when he’s wrong.
“I know him well as a friend and a former boss, I have great love and respect for him personally,” Ellis said on her radio show Thursday. “I simply can’t support him for elected office again. Why I have chosen to distance is because of that frankly malignant narcissistic tendency to say that he’s never done anything wrong.”
Ellis also said it is “really troubling” to see Trump supporters put their love for the twice impeached ex-president over the Constitution and their conservative principles.
“The total idolatry that I’m seeing from some of the supporters that are unwilling to put the Constitution and the country and the conservative principles above their love for a star is really troubling” she said. “And I think that we do need to, as Americans and as conservatives and particularly as Christians, take this very seriously and understand where are we putting our vote.”
Ellis is one of Trump’s 18 co-defendants facing criminal charges in Georgia over their attempt to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election in that state.
Ellis pleaded not guilty to violating state anti-racketeering laws and solicitation of violation of an oath by a public officer charges and was released on a $100,000 bond.
