A Jewish man was attacked in New York’s Central Park on Wednesday by a suspect who screamed “Kanye 2024” and antisemitic slurs.
Police say the victim, a 63-year-old man, was walking in the park around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday when he was attacked by a man described as a white male in his 40s, who screamed “fuck you, Jew!” and “Kanye 2024” at the victim.
The victim broke his hand and chipped his tooth after falling to the ground during the attack. He took himself to the hospital where he was treated and released.
No arrests have been made so far. The incident is being investigated as a hate crime, according to the New York Daily News.
The suspect, who is believed to be homeless, was last seen wearing a brown jacket, beige pants, white sneakers and a multi-colored hat.
Kanye West has been under fire in recent months for spreading antisemitic conspiracy theories. Several brands have cut ties with the rapper costing him millions.
