Jim Jordan deletes tweet calling the story of a 10-year-old Ohio girl getting an abortion after she was raped ‘another lie’

Jim Jordan reveals he had COVID earlier this year.

Ohio congressman Rep. Jim Jordan (R) deleted a tweet calling the story of a 10-year-old girl being raped and forced to travel to another state for an abortion “another lie”.

“Another lie. Anyone surprised?” Jordan wrote on Twitter in response to a Washington Examiner story about Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost (R) saying his office had not found any evidence to support the rape charge.

On Tuesday, police in Columbus, Ohio arrested the suspect, Gershon Fuentes,27, after he confessed to raping the child at least twice. He was charged on Wednesday with rape, according to the Columbus Dispatch.

The child was forced to travel from Ohio to a doctor in Indianapolis, Indiana for an abortion because her home state had a trigger law that banned abortions after six weeks. The law went into effect after the United States Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade.

On Thursday, Jordan deleted his initial tweet and instead said the alleged rapist “should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”

He did not apologize for suggesting that the child was lying and made up the entire thing.
