Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) was rendered speechless in a 60 minutes interview on Sunday after being challenged on the results of the 2020 presidential election during a segment on social media disinformation.
Sunday night’s discussing was focused on the upcoming Supreme Court decision on whether the government can force social media companies to remove inaccurate posts.
Jordan is against the move, arguing that it should be left up to the American people to separate fact from fiction online.
“What about this idea that the 2020 election was stolen?” host Lesley Stahl asked. “You think that these companies should allow people to say that and that individuals can make up their own mind.”
“I’ve not said that. What I’ve said is there were concerns about the 2020 election; I think Americans agree with that,” said Jordan, who is guilty of pushing conspiracy theories about the 2020 election.
“No, they don’t,” Stahl responded.
“You don’t think they think there were concerns with the 2020 election?” Jordan asked .
“Most people don’t question the result, that’s all I’m saying,” Stahl said. “They don’t question whether Biden won or not, right?”
Jordan was speechless.
“Right,” Stahl pressed. “Most people don’t question the outcome.”
After a long pause Jordan responded: “Right.”
