Joe Biden tests negative for coronavirus.

Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden and his wife Dr. Jill Biden have tested negative for coronavirus.

“Vice President Joe Biden and Dr. Jill Biden underwent PCR testing for COVID-19 today and COVID-19 was not detected. I am reporting this out in my capacity as both Vice President Biden and Dr. Biden’s primary care physician,” Biden’s doctor, Kevin O’Connor, said in a statement.

Biden later said on Twitter:

“I’m happy to report that Jill and I have tested negative for COVID. Thank you to everyone for your messages of concern. I hope this serves as a reminder: wear a mask, keep social distance, and wash your hands.”

This comes after Donald and Melania Trump announced that they have tested positive for coronavirus, after news of close Trump aide Hope Hicks positive test was leaked to the media.

Hicks accompanied Trump to the debate on Tuesday where very few members of his entourage wore masks.

According to CNN, the Biden campaign believes there is not much risk because “we were never near them.”

Biden’s running mate Sen. Kamala Harris and her husband Doug Emhoff also tested negative for the virus.

Both Biden and Harris will continue with their day as planned.
