Trump attorney Joe DiGenova has resigned from the Gridiron Club—a 135-year-old, D.C based journalistic organization– after calling for the former head of CISA, Chris Krebs to be executed for saying the November election was the most secure in U.S. history.
“We were dismayed by his comments and we felt that they were, on top of everything else, just antithetical to what the club is about,” the president of the Gridiron Club, Craig Gilbert said.

DiGenova made the comments on the ‘Howie Carr Show’ one day after Krebs’ 60 Minutes interview where he stood by his assessment that the 2020 election was the safest in this country’s history.
“Anybody who thinks the election went well, like that idiot Krebs who used to be the head of cybersecurity [for Trump]. That guy is a class a moron. He should be drawn and quartered. Taken out at dawn and shot,” DiGenova said.

“I, of course, wish Mr. Krebs no harm. This was hyperbole in a political discourse,” DiGenova told The Washington Post.
Krebs, meanwhile has suggested that he’s might take legal actions against DiGenova for his comments.
“We are a nation of laws, and I plan to take advantage of those laws. I’ve got an exceptional team of lawyers that win in court, and I think they’re probably going to be busy,” Krebs told NBC.
