Joe Rogan threatens to quit his podcast if he has to ‘walk on eggshells’

Joe Rogan apologized to Spotify and half-apologized to Neil Young and Joni Mitchell in a row over COVID-19 misinformation: Report.

Joe Rogan threatened to quit podcasting altogether if he is forced to “walk on eggshell,” months after some musicians pulled their work from Spotify to protest Rogan’s COVID-19 commentary and his use of racial slurs.

During Tuesday’s episode of ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’ guest and MMA fighter Josh Barnett said he was worried he’d be judged for ‘every little thing’ he said in the podcast and noted that Rogan has not changed his rhetoric even as his podcast grew more popular.

“There’s more people pouring over it but it’s the same thing. I do it the same way,” Rogan said. “If I become something different because it grew bigger, I will quit. If it gets to a point that I can’t do it anymore, where I have to do it in some sort of weird way where I walk on eggshells and mind my p’s and q’s, fuck that!”

Following the controversy surrounding his podcast earlier this year, Rogan pulled some of his episodes from Spotify over his previous use of racial slurs on the show. The streaming service also installed content advisories on certain “Joe Rogan Experience” episodes.

Rogan signed a three-and-half year deal in 2020, valued at $200 million to bring his popular podcast exclusively to Spotify.
