Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) was not present at the ‘No Kings’ rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday, but the mere mention of his name drew a loud chorus of boos from the audience.
“Now, this is not a rally for one party,” Leah Greenberg, the cofounder of the nonprofit Indivisible told the crowd in Philadelphia. “We’ve got Democrats here today. We’ve got Republicans and independents here today. We are looking to the leaders who will fight for us because even today, there are folks among the Democratic Party who think we should roll over and play dead. Anyone seen John Fetterman here today?”
The crowd’s response was a chorus of boos.
Millions of people across the country rallied on Saturday against Trump’s military parade in Washington DC which he claims is to celebrate the Army’s 250th anniversary, the date also coincides with Trump’s birthday.
Fetterman celebrated Trump’s event in a post on social media claiming it highlights the “best of us.”
“This parade is comprised of our sons, daughters, mothers and fathers — the very best of us,” he wrote. “Regardless of your politics, it’s appropriate to celebrate the 250 years of sacrifice, dedication and service. 🇺🇸”
