Judge denies Trump’s request to recuse himself from hush money case.

Trump found guilty on all 34 counts in hush money trial.

Judge Juan Merchan denied Donald Trump’s demand that he recuse himself from the hush money case over his daughter’s employment at a firm that works for Democrats.

Merchan said Trump’s counsel “does not reasonably or logically” explain why he should be recused from the case.

Merchan added that it’s the opinion of the court that Trump is using a “series of inferences, innuendos and unsupported speculation” to make his claims for recusal, according to CNN.

“To say that these claims are attenuated is an understatement,” Merchan said. “There is no basis for recusal.

Trump’s request for a Merchan’s recusal comes on the first day of Trump’s criminal trial in New York where he is facing 34 criminal counts of allegedly falsifying business records to cover up hush money payments to adult film star Stormy Daniels during the 2016 presidential election campaign.
