Judge tells Trump attorney he is ‘losing all credibility’

Things got heated in court Tuesday between Judge Juan Merchan, who is overseeing Donald Trump’s criminal hush money case, and the former president’s attorney during arguments over potential violations of the gag order.

Merchan has imposed a gag order barring Trump from attacking witnesses, court staff, jurors, and members of their families, including Merchan’s daughter who was repeatedly attacked by Trump on Truth Social.

Trump has been ranting for weeks about how the gag order allegedly took away his right to speak.

Prosecutors said Trump violated the gag order 10 times during this rants, including posting an article attacking Michael Cohen who is a witness in the case. They are asking the judge to fine him $1,000 for each violation.

However, Trump attorney Todd Blanche insisted that “there is no doubt … President Trump is being very careful to not violate the order.”

“Mr. Blanche, you’re losing all credibility,” Judge Merchan responded. “You’re losing all credibility with the court. Is there any other argument you want to make?”

Judge Merchan has not made a ruling on the alleged gag order violations yet.
