Ye, the rapper formerly known as Kanye West, was kicked out of Skechers office in Los Angeles, California after showing up unannounced.
In a statement, Skechers said Ye “arrived unannounced and without invitation” at their LA cooperate office and was escorted out by two executives after a brief conversation.
“Skechers is not considering and has no intention of working with West,” the shoemaker said in the statement. “We condemn his recent divisive remarks and do not tolerate antisemitism or any other form of hate speech. The Company would like to again stress that West showed up unannounced and uninvited to Skechers corporate offices.”
West’s unannounced arrival at Skechers’ office comes one day after Adidas terminated their years long partnership with the rapper amid growing pressure from Jewish organizations after people associated with an antisemitic network of conspiracy theorists hung a banner over a Los Angeles freeway saying: “Kanye is right about the Jews,” NBC News reported.
A growing number of brands have distanced themselves from the rapper since his anti-Semitic comments. They include, Gap, Balenciaga, Vogue, talent agency CAA and MRC, a production company that was doing a documentary on West.
