Ye, the rapper formerly known as Kanye West, said Donald Trump screamed at him during dinner at Mar-a-Lago and told him not to run for president in 2024 because he will lose.
“Trump started basically screaming at me at the table telling me I was going to lose,” Ye said. “I mean, has that ever worked for anyone in history? I’m like, woah woah hold on hold on Trump, you’re talking to Ye.”
Ye also said Trump insulted his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian. The video bleeped out the insult Trump allegedly called Kardashian, but Ye said Trump told him “you can tell her I said that”.
“And I was thinking like, that’s the mother of my children,” Ye said in his video, clearly offended by the insult.
The rapper also revealed that he asked Trump to be his running mate. He said even though the former president was “perturbed” by the question “that was lower on the list of things that caught him off guard.”
Ye was seen at Mar-a-Lago with white nationalist live-streamer Nick Fuentes on Tuesday, Politico reports. Fuentes is the founder of the far-right, white nationalist America First Foundation and was present at the 2017 ‘Unite the Right’ white supremacist march in Charlottesville, Virginia that turned violent.
Still, Ye said Trump was “impressed” by Fuentes, adding “Nick Fuentes, unlike so many of the lawyers of so many people that he was left with on his 2020 campaign, he’s actually a loyalist.”
Ye recently returned to Twitter after he was banned from the platform for promoting antisemitism.
