Kayleigh McEnany: 'When President Trump was president, you didn't see crisis after crisis.'

Kayleigh McEnany, former White House press secretary for Donald Trump, the twice impeached, one term president and the only American leader in a century with more than 400,000 deaths from one event on his watch, said when Trump was in the White House, Americans were able to relax since there were no crises back to back.

To McEnany, the current evacuation of Americans and Afghan allies from Afghanistan after the country fell to the Taliban, is proof that Biden is not up to running the country. Of course, McEnany failed to mention that over 70,000 people were removed from the country in the past 10 days, without the loss of a single American life.

“We’re eight months into a Biden presidency. Wrap your head around that. We still have three years and four months left,” McEnany said on Fox News. “When President Trump was president, you didn’t see crisis after crisis. You just didn’t see it!”

This coming from Donald Trump’s fourth press secretary in a White House where crisis mode was their default setting.

Jared Kushner, one of Trump’s senior advisers ensured that the White House is always in crisis mode since officials rejected him for top level security clearance but were overruled by Trump, the president and Kushner’s father-in-law. There was also the high turn-over rate among ‘Trump’s A-Team’ which stood at about 92 percent when he left office in January.

Trump’s efforts to hurt Joe Biden in the Democratic primary to avoid facing him in the general election consumed him and led to his first impeachment after he tried to bribe Ukraine to dig up dirt on then-candidate Biden in exchange for congressionally approved military aid. He botched the federal government’s response to the deadly coronavirus pandemic that killed nearly 400,000 Americans by the time he left office. Through all that, Trump advised Americans to inject themselves with disinfectant and use UV light to treat COVID, all this in a span of four months.

Trump dedicated his last month in office to trying to overturn the results of an election he lost using the courts. When that failed he urged his supporters to march to the Capitol and “fight like hell” to take back their democracy. They did. Five people died that day including Capitol Police officer Brian Sicknick.

Trump was impeached for a second time for incitement of insurrection. All this took place within the last month of Trump’s one term in office while McEnany was in the White House giving press briefings and pushing the lie that the election was stolen.

“Crisis after crisis” was the Trump White House governing strategy, one they employed to distract from their incompetency. To suggest now that that was not the case is a lie, but then again, its Kayleigh McEnany, what more should one expect?.
