Georgia’s Republican Gov. Brian Kemp was projected to win Tuesday’s GOP primary for reelection defeating a primary challenge from former President Donald preferred candidate former Sen. David Perdue.
Other Republicans who challenged Kemp include far-right activist Kandiss Taylor, human resources professional Catherine Davis, and Tom Williams.Â
Kemp managed to win outright and avoid a runoff against Perdue.
Kemp will face Democrat Stacey Abrams in a rematch of the gubernatorial contest she narrowly lost to him in 2018.
