Kemp defeats Trump-endorsed candidate David Perdue in Georgia GOP primary.

Brian Kemp says he would "absolutely" support Trump if he's the nominee in 2024.

Georgia’s Republican Gov. Brian Kemp was projected to win Tuesday’s GOP primary for reelection defeating a primary challenge from former President Donald preferred candidate former Sen. David Perdue.

Other Republicans who challenged Kemp include far-right activist Kandiss Taylor, human resources professional Catherine Davis, and Tom Williams.

Kemp managed to win outright and avoid a runoff against Perdue.

Kemp will face Democrat Stacey Abrams in a rematch of the gubernatorial contest she narrowly lost to him in 2018.
