Ken Buck says Lauren Boebert makes George Santos "look like a saint"

Former Rep. Ken Buck (R-Colo.) said scandal-plagued congresswoman Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) makes expelled Republican congressman George Santos (NY) “look like a saint” in comparison, according to Politico.

“I’ve been asked about her moving across the mountains to run in the Fourth Congressional District. And I have not said anything … I’ve been asked about her husband, who’s facing charges for child abuse felony charges. I have not said a thing about that. I’ve been asked about her son who’s facing 22 criminal charges. I have not said a thing about that. I’ve been asked about her groping a man in a movie theater, and then giving the finger to every single police officer on her way out. I have not said a word about that,” Buck said in an audio recording from a local Rotary Club meeting, obtained by Politico.

“She makes George Santos look like a saint,” Buck added, referring to the disgraced New York Republican who was expelled from Congress last year after a damning House ethics committee report and a 23-count federal indictment charging him with crimes, including aggravated identity theft and wire fraud.

The clip was aired on ‘The Dan Caplis Show’ during an interview with Boebert this week.

In response, Boebert called Buck “irrelevant,” and “an embarrassment to Colorado.”

“The voters here are so frustrated with him,” she added. “And, you know, I really don’t care what he’s asked about me.”

Buck’s comments reportedly played a role in the House Freedom Caucus voting to remove him last week.

Boebert switched districts last year to run for re-election in Buck’s more GOP-friendly district after the congressman announced that he will not be seeking re-election when his term ends.

However, Buck moved up the timeline to last Friday which triggered a June 25 special election to replace him, a move which Boebert criticized.

“Ken Buck’s announcement yesterday was a gift to the Uniparty. The establishment concocted a swampy backroom deal to try to rig an election I’m winning by 25 points,” she said.

But Buck said his decision to retire early had nothing to do with Boebert. He said it was due to his growing frustration with Congress and the timing was because he wanted the special election to overlap with the June 25 primary elections.
