A state lawmaker in Kentucky who proposed ‘Breonna’s Law’ a legislation which seeks to end no-knock search warrants like the one used on the night Breonna Taylor was killed, has been arrested.
Attica Scott was among the two dozen people arrested on Thursday night as protests continue in Louisville after prosecutors fail to indict any police officer for the death of Taylor.
Scott was booked on one count of unlawful assembly, one count of failure to disperse and one count of riot in the first degree. CBS News reports that her arrest report alleges that she “caused damage at multiple locations, including setting fire to the Louisville Public Library.”
Folllowing her arrest, state representative, Charles Booker wrote on Twitter:
“The words escape me right now. This is happening in Louisville as we speak. My Shero, riding partner, and colleague in the State House, the sponsor of Breonna’s Law, was one of the people arrested. Absolutely and deeply unbelievable.”Â
