Wages family scandal.
In 2018, Judy’s brother Willian Wages was embroiled in legal troubles after falsely claiming to have Native American ancestry to secure more than $7 million in no-bid and other federal contracts for his construction company, according to the Los Angeles Times.
McCarthy was also accused of passing work to his in-laws’ company but an investigation found no evidence to support that claim.
