Lindell announces bid to replace Ronna McDaniel as RNC chair.

MyPillow CEO and election conspiracy theorist, Mike Lindell announced that he will be challenging Ronna McDaniel for Republican National Committee (RNC) chair.

Lindell made the announcement on Monday during an appearance on Steve Bannon’s ‘War Room’ podcast.

“With all my due diligence and in prayer, I am 100% running for RNC chairman against Ronna McDaniel,” Lindell said. “I’m all in.”

Lindell said he spoke with several of the RNC’s top donors, one of whom told him, “everybody wants you to be the RNC chair, some just don’t know it yet.”

“The RNC collects money and then they don’t do anything with election crime,” Lindell added.

Lindell has criticized McDaniel in the past for not supporting his attempts to overturn the 2020 election, which he is still claiming was stolen from Donald Trump. Last November, he blamed the RNC and McDaniel for his failure to submit a complaint to the Supreme Court. He accused McDaniel of calling state attorneys general and pressure them into not signing his complaint.

Lindell’s announcement on Monday comes days after he said he was weighing a challenge to McDaniel “if God willing.” He said one of the first things he will do is “get rid of these machines and make this the best elections in world history in our country.”

Lindell is currently facing billion dollar defamation lawsuits from voting machine companies Dominion and Smartmatic over his baseless allegations that they worked with Democrats to steal the 2020 election from Trump.

It is unlikely that Lindell will be successful in his bid to unseat McDaniel as RNC chair. A majority of the more than 100 RNC voting members have already signed a letter endorsing McDaniel, according to the Hill.

Furthermore, there are others considering joining the race who may be more palatable to voting members. According to Politico, failed New York gubernatorial candidate, Lee Zeldin is considering throwing his hat in the ring.
