Lindsey Graham slams Trump fraud case: "What a friggin' joke!"

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C) slammed Donald Trump’s fraud case in New York as a “friggin joke” and suggested that the former president’s Mar-a-Lago property is undervalued.

“It’s a systematic effort to destroy Donald Trump as a political person,” Graham told Fox New host Sean Hannity. “His crime was he was a good conservative president. I’ve never seen hatred toward a political figure like I see against President Trump. The left will do anything to ruin his life, to keep him from being president again. And here’s the good news – if you’re a conservative – it’s not working.”

New York Attorney General Letitia James has accused Trump of committing fraud by inflating the value of his businesses and properties to banks and insurance companies.

During his appearance on ‘Hannity’ Monday night, Graham railed against Judge Arthur Engoran after Trump’s Mar-a-Lago property was valued at $18 million. Trump has claimed that the property is valued up to 100 times more than that amount.

“The judge believes that Mar-a-Lago is worth $18 million. What a friggin’ joke!” Graham said. “Now, here’s what’s important to people watching this show. President Trump can’t be in Iowa and South Carolina and New Hampshire. But if you live in these states, you can help him by making sure that liberals do not get away with this. Vote for President Trump.”

At Monday’s trial, Judge Engoran urged the media to stop reporting that he valued Mar-a-Lago at $18 million. Engoran said the valuation comes from a Palm Beach County official who assessed the property between 2011 and 2021.

James is seeking $250 million in penalties and a ban on Trump and his organizations from ever doing business in New York.
